“I told the guys after the loss on Tuesday, in order to win close games you need to execute, you need poise and you need confidence,” head coach Eric Fekete said. “Today we lacked some poise and we didn’t execute, and this outcome is what you’re going to get. That’s a good team, and whether you lose by one or 10, it doesn’t really matter. We went from 3-0 to 3-2, and we play again on Tuesday. We have to pick up our game.”

The Bobcats scored the first goal of the game when Wilbur scored his fifth goal of the season, but the team had trouble maintaining the lead all afternoon and fell behind 4-2 heading into the second quarter.

The Bobcats battled back and tied the game up at five heading into halftime. Chris Messina, Dylan Webster, and Jay Binkowski had goals in the second quarter to knot the game up for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats held an 8-7 lead heading into the final quarter and a 9-8 lead with less than 10 minutes to go in the game but were unable to hold off the Hawks offensive attack. Gorman’s hat trick goal held up to be the game-winner for the Hawks.

The Bobcats are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Fairfield to take on the Stags at 4 p.m.
